Just like Zeus Poseidon is a son of Kronos and Rea. According to one sources he was the second son of Kronos. But, there are also informational sources according to which Poseidon is a first son of Kronos.

According to Greek mythology it was Kronos and his wife those who were first settlers of Olympus. Actually, there were some other gods before them, though Kronos drove the away and proclaimed that place as his home.

Aphrodite

She is the most beautiful goddess of Olympus. She is a goddess of love, and there is no another ability of Aphrodite. She was provided only with ability to make people fall in love and to keep their love. Once Athene entered the room of Aphrodite and saw her spinning. Athene get offended with that fact and said that he rejects her duties. Aphrodite said that she is sorry and since that day she did nothing, except making people fall in love.

She was a wife of Hephaestus, the ugliest god among all gods of Olympus. It was Hera who made Aphrodite to marry Hephaestus. Though, she never was loyal to him. She had a number of lovers. One of those lovers was Ares – god of war. Hephaestus was told about his wife is cheating him and he made up his mind about how to revenge her. He forged the strongest and the thinnest golden net and placed it above the bad.

Hephaestus said Aphrodite that he leaves for having a rest. Once he left the room Aphrodite sent for Ares who came at once. After they woke up in the morning they found their selves tied with golden net. And the very next moment Hephaestus came into a room. He also called for other gods and they were laughing about cheaters.

The name of Aphrodite is translated like "foam" as according to mythology she was born of sea foam. She walked on the beach from the foam on the coast of Cyprus. She also was the one who won the golden apple with scripture "To the most beautiful". Paris gave her that apple in exchange for love of Helen.
