Ares

Ares appeared as an effort of ancient people to explain troubles and sufferings they had in their lives. It is a god of war. Though, he is a polarity for Athene, who is also a goddess of war. Athene is a goddess of fair war, the war that is waged for truth and justice. Unlike Athene Ares is thirsty for war as it is. He doesn't care about truth or justice he only cares about war. And those wars are the most cruel and senseless wars in the world.
He was a good who always started wars between people just for fun. It was common for him to get down the earth and penetrate the very battle field. Once he got there, he let out a yell like thousands of men. That yell was loud and terrible and driven people mad, so they were killing every one they see on their ways. They were killing babies, women and so on and so forth.
He was a son of Zeus but Zeus hated Ares and once he said that weren't Ares his son he would drive him away to tartar. Ares was in love with Aphrodite who was a wife of Hephaestus. A terrible bland of range and love gave birth for most terrible gods of Olympus. Those were the gods of terror and fear – children of Ares and Aphrodite.
They were common company for Ares and never left the battle field. They were common visitors in those countries where the war was waged. Once, Ares was imprisoned and remained like that for 13 months. Those months were the happiest month for people. Since that time Greeks recognize figure 13 as a lucky figure.
