Just like Zeus Poseidon is a son of Kronos and Rea. According to one sources he was the second son of Kronos. But, there are also informational sources according to which Poseidon is a first son of Kronos.

According to Greek mythology it was Kronos and his wife those who were first settlers of Olympus. Actually, there were some other gods before them, though Kronos drove the away and proclaimed that place as his home.

Athene

Athene is a goddess of war. Unlike the Ares she is a goddess right war, the war that is waged for truth and justice. She is a daughter of Zeus and goddess of ocean. Though, Zeus was told that goddess of ocean will born him a son after she will born him a daughter. And according to that foreseen that son should be the one who will drive Zeus away, just like he had driven away his father.

Zeus was greatly afraid of such opportunity and so he swallowed a goddess he was in love with. Though, in some time Zeus start suffering from terrible headache. That was the most terrible headache he ever felt. To get rid of that pain Zeus called for Hephaestus. As Hephaestus came to Zeus, Zeus asked him to hit his head with hammer. At first Hephaestus was afraid of doing it but then he fulfilled the request of his father.

The hit was so strong that skull of Zeus was cracked. Once the head cracked a goddess appeared from that head. She was a goddess dressed up with losing overall and with a spear in her arms. Her eyes were brightened with unspeakable wisdom and Zeus proclaimed her as fair goddess of war. He also provided Athene with ability to spinning, and that was an offence for Hephaestus.

Athene was the one who punished Ares for his cruelty and passion for war. As she found out that Ares started new war for nothing but war, she took the magic spear and threw it in the Areas. That spears found the only unarmored place on the Ares's body it wounded him. Ares asked Zeus to punish Athena, though Zeus refused to do it.
