Just like Zeus Poseidon is a son of Kronos and Rea. According to one sources he was the second son of Kronos. But, there are also informational sources according to which Poseidon is a first son of Kronos.

According to Greek mythology it was Kronos and his wife those who were first settlers of Olympus. Actually, there were some other gods before them, though Kronos drove the away and proclaimed that place as his home.

Demeter

Demeter is a sister of Zeus, Poseidon and Hades. She was a daughter of Kronos and Rea. She is rather mighty goddess, though not as mighty as Hera. She is a goddess of fertility and agriculture. According to mythology she was the one to show people how to cultivate their lands. She was also the one who greatly cared about people and always watched after people had something to eat and never feel hungry.

She had a daughter Persephone. Persephone was a wife of Hades, the god of world of souls of dead people. Though, that marriage wasn't blessed by Demeter. She wasn't agree with her daughter to become a wife of Hades and spent the rest of her life under ground. But Hades was greatly in love with Persephone and so he asked for Zeus permission to kidnap her.

After he got that permission he kidnapped Persephone from Demeter. Demeter was greatly upset with this fact and so she went away looking for her daughter. Though, here efforts failed and she never managed to find her. Though, nymphs were greatly touched with sufferings of Demeter and they told her where her daughter was.

Though, marriage was already contracted and so there was no way back for Persephone. The only thing Hades could do is to provide Demeter with wedding gift. And that gift was Sicilia. Hades gave Sicilia for Demeter as gratitude for her daughter. Demeter calmed down and resigned herself with the fact that there is nothing that could be done.
