Morpheus

He is a god of sleep and dreams. He was a god who immersed people in dream and was able to do anything in their dreams. It was common for Morpheus to penetrate dreams and talk to people, it was also possible for Morpheus to kill one while he was sleeping. He is a son of Hypnosis – the god of dreams and Nikta – the goddess of night. And abilities of Morpheus were conditioned by the blend of abilities of his parents.
This god is common not only for ancient Greeks but also for common Romans. There is no difference between images of this god. He was depicted as young and slim man with wings on his temples. He considered as god who never shows up in his real image. As penetrating one's dream he turned into different people. He was skillful in pretending voices and behavior of other people.
According to mythology Morpheus was a god who was able to immerse one in sleep in case if he wanted to. And sleep was a common way for Morpheus to communicate with people. Actually, there were no peculiar abilities or features Morpheus was provided with by people. He was only able to immerse people in sleep and to visit their dreams while they were sleeping.
The image of Morpheus was a common image for Greek vases. It was a man, or it is better to say a young man, with long hair and tiny wings. He was called as winged god for those tiny wings. Common expression "Get into Morpheus arms" means to fall asleep tightly. And that expression is based on knowledge about Morpheus and its abilities.
